5 modes of transport to try while travelling

Over the course of my travels, I have found myself in all corners of the globe. I’ve travelled far and wide, and I have some pretty epic stories to tell the grandkids. The Tropics have been replaced by Tundra, but it hasn’t been easy. After all, you can’t just swim from one country to the next. Getting from one destination to the other has required planes, trains, and automobiles, and I have utilised them all during my adventures. If you’re looking for a new way to travel, check out these five modes of transport to try while travelling.

Travelling by train
In my opinion, train travel is totally underrated. I love travelling by train, and I have done so on many occasions. While they may not be as fast as many other forms of public transport, trains give you the chance to see more of a country. As you trundle through fields and mountains, you get a whole different view of each destination, and one that you might not have seen otherwise. As if that wasn’t enough to tempt you, train travel is often incredibly cheap! What could be better than saving a few coins?

Travelling by boat
Sure, travelling by land can be cool, but what about travelling by boat? There are many different ways to sail the seven seas, and they can all take you across the globe one wave at a time. It may be that cruising is right up your street, or it may be that island hopping around Greece with the help of a few ferries is more your style. Not many people get the chance to see the world from the water, and it’s something that really needs to be seen to be believed.

Travelling by car
If you’re the kind of person who likes to be independent, you probably don’t like the thought of being stuffed like a sardine on public transport for eight hours straight. If this sounds like hell on earth for you, why not give driving a go? Many people choose to drive the open road on their travelling adventures, and this is especially true in America. There’s nothing cooler than renting a muscle car and making your way down Route 66 with the top down. Just make sure you drive safe, because medical costs in the US can often be as high as $10,000 per day. That’s not a bill you want to receive.

Travelling by plane
It’s no secret that travelling by plane is one of the most popular forms of transportation, and there’s a good reason for this. Air travel is extremely quick and easy and gives you the chance to be in a completely different country in the space of a few hours. You don’t have to do anything but allow your captain the chance to fly above the clouds and take you to your dream destination. As if that wasn’t cool enough, short-haul flights can often be super cheap.

Travelling by bus
If you don’t want the hassle of having to get off at the right train station or feeling travel sick up in the air, bus travel could be your best options. Most countries and destinations have public buses and coaches that can take you where you want to go, but there are also many holiday companies that offer proper bus tours. These tours provide you with food, travel, and accommodation, and you get the whole experience for one set price. It’s like your very own moving holiday.

Travelling the world is one of the greatest adventures you could ever go on, so why not give these modes of transport a go? Have you got any more to add to the list? Let me know in the comments.
